What Terrorists Want: Understanding the Enemy, Containing the Threat by Louise Richardson

In her excellent book, Louise Richardson describes six rules for countering terrorism:
  1. Have a defensible and achievable goal.
  2. Live by your principles.
  3. Know your enemy.
  4. Separate the terrorists from their communities.
  5. Engage others in countering terrorists with you.
  6. Have patience and keep your perspective. (pp. 203-233)

It appears that the present administration is doing almost the opposite of all of these rules. We need to increase our intelligence - in both meanings.
